Assessments
The following explains how your child will be assessed in each subject area.
READING- Students will take a test at the end of each standards based unit. These assessments can be any day during the week, when the unit reaches completion. Students may also be graded on work they do through out the week. This will also test the skills taught and their understanding of each.
Students will be working on increasing their independent reading level.
MATH- Students will take a mid-chapter Math test, as well as a comprehensive test at the end of each chapter. Both of these will count as a test grade. It will be graded based on the standards within on a scale of 1-4.
WRITING- Students will be tested weekly on their spelling skills. Extra Credit will also be given on occasion.
When it comes to writing pieces students will be graded on a rubric that matches the specific writing we are working on. This grade will be out of 4 points.

SOCIAL SCIENCES- Students will complete assignments in class based on our lessons. These assignments will show the students understanding of the topic. Assignments will be graded on a 1-4 grading scale and linked to a standard.
